Hi
David,
I
have been following your site quite regularly since the time I came
across it a few months back. I have seen it change including the
new look site. The interviews you carry are great and reinforce
a lot of things. The fact that you share information instead of
publishing it in a book available in some book store makes me visit
your site more often. Besides your discussions are very, very current.
You could say I visit your site many more times than I do Jakob
Nielsen's. Something about it keeps your site top of the mind.
With
reference to the article on 'Affinity Groups', I thought I must
comment and share my two bits. I am a User Interface Designer working
in India (Bangalore). While your emphasis on man the social animal
bit is compelling, I think WAP devices can be of equal importance
to the individual (irrespective of all group affinities), to deal
with situations on one's own - e.g. privately scan info on a fairly
compact postage stamp sized screens that can viewed only by him
or her, espceially when performing a quick background check on a
place, person, or something. To place a bid for an item that you
wnat to keep a secret till you actually get it, etc. The fact is
there will be quite a few individual things that require one to
one interaction in the context of that one person.
Personally,
my temperament is more like the one you described in your article
taht of a social person and I would perhaps plug in to the affinity
group based WAP services. All the articles on your site make very
good reading.
Great
work.
Regards,
Sridahr
